Preview: University of South Wales Women’s 1st v Cardiff University Women’s 1st

The University of South Wales return to Western 3B action, following their crushing Western Conference Cup defeat to the University of West England.

An 18-51 home loss in the last 32 showed the gulf between the two sides, as USW lost to a team three leagues above them.

Visitors Cardiff are, however, in a worse position – looking to record just their second league win of the season.

They also suffered defeat in the Western Conference Cup, after losing to divisional rivals Winchester 57-29 last week.

This is a stark contrast from their form last season, where Cardiff suffered defeat just once all season, winning nine out of their 10 games as they secured their second consecutive title, following promotion to the Western 3B League in 2012/2013.
