ANTHONY Joshua’s heavyweight unification title clash with Joseph Parker is expected to be confirmed in the new few hours.

World champion Joshua, who fought off Carlos Tackam in front of a 70,000 crowd at the Principality Stadium in October, is expected to return to the Welsh capital in March.

The fight has been penciled in to take place on March 31 as Joshua attempts to defend his IBF and WBA titles.

The New Zealand-born Parker is the current WBO heavyweight champion following his victory over Andy Ruiz in Auckland last year.

Negotiations are still ongoing between Parker’s representative, David Higgins. English boxing promoter, Eddie Hearn said there will be ‘fireworks’ at Joshua and Parker’s conference ahead of the fight.

He told Sky Sports: “David Higgins has got a lot to say for himself, he’s a funny character, and Anthony Joshua doesn’t like what Joseph Parker has been saying.

“This could be the first time we’ve seen the switch of Anthony Joshua, and I’m excited to see it.”

He added: “It’s a great fight between two undefeated world heavyweight champions and we’re close now.”

The Briton is also hoping to fight WBC champion Deontay Wilder later this year, as well as a showdown with fellow Englishman Tyson Fury.

Joshua’s last fight at the Principality Stadium became the fastest-selling sporting event in the stadium’s history since it opened in 1999.
