Preview: University of South Wales Women’s 1st v Cardiff Metropolitan University Women’s 3rd

THE University of South Wales’ 1st netball team returns to Western 3B action, after a month without playing.

 The early-kick off in Treforest is part of a full fixture list, with the table-toppers University of Bristol hosting Cardiff University 5ths, as well as Cardiff University 4ths hosting the University of Winchester.

USW had a scheduled league fixture to the University of Winchester back in December but were unable to field a team, following late sickness.

That forfeit consigned USW to second from bottom and are only two points off the drop zone with over half the season played.

USW will be hopeful of a big performance from Goal Shooter Emma Roberts, who gave a good account of herself against Cardiff University Fifth’s at Talybont.

In the previous meeting between the two sides, Cardiff Metropolitan University came out on top with a 37-23 scoreline.

USW’s 2nd and 3rd sides are also involved with home fixtures, as they host Cardiff Metropolitan University 5th and the University of Wales Trinity St David Women’s 2nd.
