Name: Botti Biabi
Age: 21
Position: Forward
Strengths: Technical ability, hold-up play, strength.
Description:
Botti Biabi is a talented attacker playing for Swansea City U23’s, and mainly operates at the striker position. A technically gifted footballer, who is comfortable on the ball when under pressure, Biabi has the composure to make the right decision when closely marked, whilst possessing the skills necessary to get out of a tough situation.
A particularly impressive aspect of Biabi’s game is his ability to hold-up the ball, linking midfield and attack well for a player of his size, as he excels in making short sharp passes between the lines that will suit the Swans playing style if called up to the senior squad.
Another quality of his game is his body positioning, as he has a knack of getting himself in the right positions to prevent his marker from getting any advantage. What helps in this regard is his stellar first touch that provides a critical moment to either find a well-placed pass or turn his man and set off towards goal, a rare quality to find in many young players at the highest level.
The only question of Biabi’s game as of now appears to be creating space for himself in certain off-ball situations, as at times he fails to peel off a defender that would otherwise set him up for a certain goal or throw a feint that would give him time to get a shot away. This will come with both time and experience, and it is no doubt that given said time within the first team set-up Botti could become a serious prospect in the future.
