WALES Women’s manager Jayne Ludlow has praised captain Sophie Ingle and midfielder Angharad James following their performances in the Women’s Super League this season.

James and Ingle were named Player of the Season for Everton Ladies and Liverpool Ladies respectively.

Ingle was part of the Liverpool Ladies side to finish in 6th place, whilst James’ Everton finished 9th.

The pair have 150 caps combined for the national side, with both playing a significant part in Wales’ unbeaten run so far in World Cup qualification.

“They’ve been performing magnificently for us. It’s nice to see their progress in their club environment,” said Ludlow.

“It’s positive; hopefully that shows the commitment they’ve had in their personal development right now.”

The two have been included in the latest squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers with Bosnia-Herzegovina and Russia, with the first match coming a week Thursday at Swansea City’s Liberty Stadium and the other at Newport Stadium four days later.

They will be joined by Cardiff City Ladies’ Ffion Morgan, who has been included in the squad after recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

The three-time capped international has been working with the Wales Performance Squad and is one of four new players to be included from the last squad announcement.

“Ffion is one of our local kids who has been involved very heavily in our development programme. She’s pushed through a challenge over the last few months. We’re really looking to getting her back involved,” Ludlow added.

Details of the full squad is here.
