GARETH Jones’ USW side lost a close fought game against Swansea University, playing a large part of the game with 14 men.
“Frustrating result to take, purely based on the fact we had 14 men, but ultimately it wasn’t the red card that cost us the game and our error count was too high.”
Jones was asked how important he believed the next match against Hartpury was.
“You look at this league and anybody can beat anybody. You can look at it like two losses but it’s two games we should have one. Big ask to go down to Hartpury and get a win, but it’s a must win if we want to be serious contenders to go up.”
Jones also spoke about the depth within the team, as well as the amount of competition within the squad.
“It’s brilliant, you have the link with the Ponty boys (Pontypridd RFC) and the Cardiff Blues as well. It’s brilliant to see the depth and boys from the development can come up, which in years gone by wasn’t always the case. Challenging for positions each week is getting tougher, so next week should see some tough calls being made.”
