A CARDIFF City fan has partnered with local flag and banner makers Euroflag to fund tributes to £15 million record signing Emiliano Sala.

Camron George, has set up a GoFundMe page to raise sufficient funds to produce flags, including some to send to FC Nantes.

George had the idea of contacting Euroflag, who have produced a 70ft banner for the Argentinian striker which reads: “We never saw you play and never saw you score, but Emiliano our beautiful Bluebird we will love you forever more.”

The banner was delivered to the Cardiff City Stadium earlier today.

The last few days have put the footballing world in shock with the news that Sala was on board a flight that went missing on Monday evening.

Sala, 28, left Nantes for Cardiff around 19:15, after making a final visit to his former teammates before heading back to his new team in the Welsh capital.

After an extensive search, harbourmaster Capt David Barker today confirmed that the search for Emiliano Sala and pilot David Ibbotson had been called off.

The response from the world of football has been to come together in support of the missing striker and his new and old clubs.

“I spoke to the guys at Euroflag about the idea of creating a tribute to Emi and they were right on board and asked me to create the [GoFundMe] page to help get things started,” explained George.

“There isn’t really a main goal for how much we raise, whatever we raise, we will use to make flags.

“I’m overwhelmed that there’s been nearly £300 raised in such a short space of time,” he continued.

George also touched upon how hard the current situation is for all involved as well as the response from the Cardiff City supporters.

“I’m devastated for Emi, his family, and also everyone that’s been effected from this event.

“The response we’ve had from the fans had been amazing, we’ve even had one donation come from France.”

George praised Euroflag for being willing to support his idea.

“It’s mainly down to the boys at Euroflag as they are the ones that can make this possible, by making the flags. They’re also donating £250 to the cause.”

Meanwhile fans have continued to gather outside the Cardiff City Stadium and leave tributes and express their emotions on social media.

George said the plans were still in the early stages out of respect for the current situation.
