AARON Ramsey will not feature in Wales’ European qualifier with Slovakia tomorrow.

Manager Ryan Giggs confirmed the news that the Arsenal man would not play in his press conference ahead of the campaign opener.

Ramsey was absent from Wales’ open training session at the Cardiff City Stadium due to a thigh problem.

“Aaron has gone back to Arsenal. His injury just didn’t clear up in time, so it’s obviously a blow especially with the form he has been in and the quality he’s got,” Giggs said.

“He gave it a try yesterday and it just wasn’t settling down as quick as we thought. It was too short of a turn around.”

Despite one of the side’s key players being unavailable for selection, Giggs remained positive.

“We made sure we had a plan B and we have been working on that during the week.

“We are of course going to miss somebody like Aaron, but we prepared in case he didn’t make it.”

There are no new injury concerns for the Dragons ahead of the opening Euro 2020 qualifier. Ethan Ampadu, Tom Lawrence are out however David Brooks could make an appearance after returning to training.
