BUCS LEAGUE and cup winners University of South Wales Men’s 1st start their title defence at Hartpury today.
On the opening day of the Premier South campaign the champions face the side they defeated in the BUCS national final in March.
The home team will be out to turn the tables on their opponents this season, after they lost to USW in dramatic fashion in the 127th-minute in the cup and finished a place below them in the league.
Lee Kendall’s side sealed the double with an impressive unbeaten campaign – the only side ever to have done so since the championship finals began.

The reigning champions host their first home game next Wednesday, October 9, against Exeter at USW Sport Park. The south Wales side registered a league double over their Devon counterparts last time out.
Three out of their first four games are away, with the local derby against Cardiff Metropolitan University scheduled for October 16 at Cyncoed campus. USW host them a month later, on November 20.
Kendall’s men could come up against two familiar faces from last season’s title-winning squad as David Thomas and Joe Evans are both now studying at Cardiff Met.
USW end the league campaign away at Sketty Lane to Swansea University on Wednesday, 29th January, 2020.
