AFTER their relegation last season USW will be looking to begin life in the Western Tier 3 with a victory over Swansea 3rd.
The Treforest-based side finished last season with just seven points from their 10 league matches.
USW’s future was decided on the last match of the campaign, after they were defeated by the Men’s Western 2B champions UWE 1st by a 5-2 scoreline.
A victory for the boys in red would have seen them dodge relegation and have Swansea 2nd take their position in the Western Tier 3.
Swansea 3rd also experienced a tough time last year, however unlike USW they were victorious on the final day with a 3-1 win over Cardiff 3rd; as a result they remained in the Western 3B league.
Goals were an issue throughout last season, with USW conceding 19 goals (average 1.9 goals per game). Swansea had a slightly worse record letting in 20 goals (two goals per game).
The season gets underway tomorrow at the USW Sport Park in Treforest.
Kick-off is at 14:00.
