UNIVERSITY of South Wales Men’s 3rd kick off their campaign against newly promoted University of Bristol Men’s 5th at the Sport Park in Treforest.

After narrowly missing out on promotion last season, USW 3rd will be keen to put that right this time around and start as they mean to go on in Western Tier 4.

Their promotion dreams were dashed by one-point, despite winning on the final day of the season 3-1. Top scorer Mike Wicherek, a final year Sports Journalism student, will be one of those keen to leave USW as part of a promotion-winning side this year.

After gaining promotion to the Men’s Western Tier 4 Bristol 5th will also want to get their season off to a good start by causing an upset to the home side.

USW 3rd will have added motivation to defeat Bristol 5th because the team that beat them to promotion last season was Bristol 4th – this might give them the edge in the fixture.

Kick off is 15:00.
