Reaction: Neil Warnock is looking for his side to stay unbeaten at home all season after securing a late equaliser

NEIL Warnock wants his side to go unbeaten at Cardiff City Stadium for the rest of the season.

The Bluebirds drew 1 – 1 with Sheffield Wednesday, a result which gave Warnock hope that the best is still to come.

He conceded that his squad had areas to work on, but said the second-half of the season is where his side can push up the Championship table into the play-off mix.

“I’d like to go all season unbeaten here to be honest, but now we need to win away; it’s about time we won away from home on a law of averages,” said Warnock.

“We can get better in the second half of the season. There’s one or two areas that need working on, we’ve got one or two lads coming back in. I think we can really be in the mix, of that I’m sure.”

His side will need to be much improved if they are to do so, as a lacklustre first half performance saw them trailing Sheffield Wednesday going into the break.

Julian Borner’s first-half strike put the visiting side ahead deservedly, and Warnock’s men needed to show character to fight back into the game.

They achieved just that, with Lee Tomlin’s 87th minute equaliser enough to seal a point for the Bluebirds.

Warnock was unimpressed with a poor first-half display.

“I was disappointed to concede how we did. Change was needed early because we would have been beaten easily if we hadn’t done that.

“After the change, I thought we could win it, they were vulnerable and they’d had a bit of fortune in the first-half.

“I think on another night we would have a penalty with Aden Flint having his shirt pulled, but you don’t tend to get those at the moment.

“You just have to keep working hard, we had a lot of chances, there were difficult conditions but some of the balls into the box were very poor tonight.

“We kept going though, and in the end I thought we really could have won it.”
