UNIVERSITY of South Wales head east this Wednesday to face Bath University in pursuit of a return to winning ways.
USW travelled to local rivals Cardiff Met last time out and despite taking the lead, a point is what had to settle for in a 1-1 draw.
Bath haven’t had the rub of the green lately. After starting the season with a hard-fought 3-2 win away at Swansea, they followed that up with a 3-0 loss to table-toppers Hartpury and a 3-1 defeat to Exeter last week.
USW head coach Lee Kendall had this to say to about this week’s opponents.
“Bath are a huge sporting university and there is no getting away from the fact that players or students want to go there to really enhance their studies and have a Bath degree under their arm when they walk out.
“They can attract real top players and that proved last year when we played them in regards to the games being really tight and the odd goal or draw in it.”
Their counterparts this week are familiar opponents to Kendall’s men.
Facing them twice last year, the Welsh side came away with a 1-0 win in Bath, but a 1-1 draw is how it finished at the Sport Park.
Kick off in Bath is 2pm
