TOP of the table University of South Wales Women’s 1st welcome second placed Plymouth Marjon 1st to the USW Sport Park.

The hosts have been in fine form this season so far only losing one game from their opening four, which came on the opening day versus Hartpury 1st.

Finding the back of the net for Kath Morgan’s side has been far from an issue; they have bagged 14 goals since the start of the season.

Much like USW, Marjon also have a strong attack. They have scored 13 goals this season, however, despite this they have been unable to keep a clean sheet.

With nearly half of the league fixtures this season already having been played, today’s fixture could play a massive role in who lifts the Western Tier 1 title.

One of the three goalscorers in USW’s victory over rivals Cardiff Met 2nd last week, Rhianne Oakley knows how much is lying on the result of today’s game.

“We know Marjon are currently at the top of the league with us and have picked up some good results,” she said.

“This game and next week’s against Hartpury could determine who wins the league.

“We’ve had a great opening to the season, and we want to keep our winning ways.

“The team has performed exceptionally well the past few games but we’re still improving together as a team.”

Kick-off is at 14:00.
