UNIVERSITY of South Wales Women’s 2nd kick off their Western Conference Cup campaign against an in-form Swansea University 1st side at Fairwood tomorrow.
Swansea are yet to lose in the Western Tier 2B this season, scoring 32 goals in their opening four league games, conceding just a single goal in the process.
The home side enjoyed an impressive campaign last year, finishing second behind Cardiff Met 2nd. S
Swansea secured a 32 goal-difference across the campaign, the highest in the league, so it is no surprise they have been red-hot in front of goal this season. USW will no doubt be focused on breaking down Swansea’s attacking prowess.
However, anything can happen in cup football.
USW come in to this game off the back of an impressive second-placed finish last season in the Western 3B division, winning six of their 10 games.
In the league, USW currently sit in second place with a win under their belt. They will be aiming for a high finish again this season, and with the wind behind their sails after just two games played, they will be confident of putting a cup run together.
Kick off for the game is 15:00.
