NEWPORT County play host to bottom three side Oldham Athletic at Rodney Parade in the EFL League Two.
County go into the game on the back of a 2-0 home win in the FA Cup first round replay with fellow League Two side Grimsby Town on Wednesday.
The home side’s domestic form has tailed off in recent weeks with successive defeats against Colchester and a first home loss in the league to Salford.
Oldham on the other hand stopped their dreadful early season form with a win over Walsall and draws against Port Vale and Northampton.
The visitors have had a tough season so far in 2019 with only three wins, seven draws and seven losses which leaves them 22nd in the league.
County have seven wins, seven draws and three losses and remain one of the favorites for a top six playoff place.
The Welsh side currently sit ninth in the table and are only two points of sixth and three off third.
Top scorer Padraig Amond was on the scoresheet midweek along with Josh Labadie, and manager Michael Flynn spoke about both the cup win and Saturday’s opponent.
“We’ve now got to go to Maldon & Tiptree and make sure we’re at our best. What I won’t be doing is resting players, I’ll play the team I think can win the game.
We’ve had them watched, we’ve seen them already with what they did to Leyton Orient and it’s going to be a tough game.
Saturday against Oldham Athletic is first. That’ll be a tough game, Dino will have them organised and fighting for each other.” (Newport County AFC).
The main threat for the away side coming into the game will be Gabon midfielder Johan Branger, who is the team’s top scorer so far this campaign with two goals.
Newport have won the only two contests between both sides, including a 2-0 win at Rodney Parade back in April.
The game is a 15:00 kick-off at Rodney Parade.
