SWANSEA City made it 11 straight away games unbeaten as the spoils were shared at Huddersfield’s John Smith’s Stadium.

The Swans join Premier League outfits Liverpool and Sheffield United as the only teams not to taste defeat away from home in the English Football League so far this season.

However, Jay Fulton’s 18th minute strike was not enough to secure all three points as Karlan Grant equalised for the hosts just before half time to salvage a point for Danny Cowley’s side.

The home side finished the match a man short after Trevoh Chalobah was adjudged to have headbutted George Byers.

Speaking after proceedings, Swansea head coach Steve Cooper said:

“It was an interesting game, to say the least. We knew that it was a game that we had to be at our best and committed to both sides of the game.

“I’m never going to be 100% happy with a point because we want to win games, even at a tough place like this but I think we should be satisfied and move on.”

The Swans boss was also full of praise for young Welshman Ben Cabango, who made his league bow for the club after replacing Mike van der Hoorn at half time.

“Ben Cabango was a major positive tonight. When we had to make changse at half-time, nobody had any worry about a lad coming on into a game like this for his league debut.

“That’s because we knew he would do what he did. He played really well with and without the ball, and he had a good round of applause from the lads in the dressing room. Firstly because he had made his league debut, secondly because of the way he played.

“I have said all along everybody who trains in the first team squad is capable of representing us in any game.

“Even though Ben had not played a league game, we had no hesitation putting him in.

“If he is called upon again, it’s no problem. He did a brilliant job tonight and it’s great experience for him because he will end up playing for us at some stage, that’s for sure.”

The Swans return to Championship action on Friday night where they host high-flying Fulham at the Liberty Stadium. Kick-off is at 19:45.
