UNIVERSITY of South Wales Men’s 5th coach Tim Heal believes his team will go onto to secure the league title after a 4-1 victory against Trinity St David moved them a step closer to glory.
Goals from Connor Brennan, Calvin Okeke and Arnold Ncuble were enough to earn what was ultimately an emphatic win.
And Heal believes his team are in pole position to go on and claim the silverware.
He said: “The expectation at the start of the season was that we would win the league and we are in a position to go and do that with our game in hand.
“We are top of the table and I think we are right on course to do what we want to do. It’s just about winning the rest of the games.”
Focusing on the latest success, Heal added: “We started off the game exactly how we thought we would, but I think in the first half,we didn’t show our true selves and we spoke about that at half time.
“We just needed to settle down and start playing our normal game. We came out in that second half and shows from the score line.”
Heal reserved special praise for Okeke and centre-half Lewis Brown especially.
“Calvin in the right wing back position pressed constantly throughout the game, he didn’t stop running,” said Heale.
“Also Lewis Brown got his reward for his good work all game and getting the assist for the final goal, which cleared the whole team with one pass.”
Heal believes his team’s match day performance was a strong reflection of their performances in training.
He said: “If you watch our performances, and if you watch our training, everything from the pressing traps we set, to the full backs, to the sliding across to midfield….
“There are some slight tweaks we need to make, but as far as we are concerned it’s starting to come out.”
