UNIVERSITY of South Wales trio Clayton Green, Evan Press and Kane Owen have been named in the Wales C squad to face England C.
Manager Mark Jones and assistant Owain Tudor-Jones have selected a squad of 20 players from the JD Cymru Premier.
The University of South Wales is represented by three players and Men’s 1st team head coach Lee Kendall, who face the very best of young talent in England’s Vanarama National League later this month.
Clayton Green is included in the squad for the second time after playing in the 2-2 draw in Salford last year.
Green’s Barry team-mate Evan Press, a first-year student at USW, is included in the squad for the first time, alongside Kane Owen, who plays his club football in the JD Cymru Premier for Penybont.
Owen and Green were part of Kendall’s, record-breaking 2018-19 unbeaten side who did the double by winning the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) league and cup.
Kendall will continue his involvement with the side by working as goalkeeping coach.
Jones’ squad of 20 includes nine uncapped players. He said: “This will be the third match between Cymru and England in as many seasons and I believe that we’ve assembled a strong squad to give us the best possible chance in the match.
“We’re excited about playing this match at the home of Caernarfon Town. We know that not only the Cofis passionate fans will come out in support of the Cymru C squad at The Oval but all those in the surrounding area as well, and we can’t wait to bring international football to their doorstep.”
