THIS weeks podcast of the week is ‘The Exiles Podcast’. A podcast focusing on League two club Newport County.
Created by second year students, Harrison Kidd, Gerren Scapens, Luke Hawkins and Owen Gardener. The podcast goes into depth on all the happenings at the current League two leaders from reviewing and previewing matches to discussing tactics and selection dilemas.
Created in October this year, the boys have welcomed former Newport captain Mark O’Brien onto their podcast and their hopeful of getting more guests on in the future.
The podcast has their own YouTube channel in order to abide by social distancing rules during the COVID-19 pandemic which you can find by clicking here.
Co-creator Harrison Kidd, has said that he is pleased with the progress the podcast has been making since its creation.
“Overall we’ve only done five episodes as we are a relatively new podcast which we decided to do mid October time, we decided to do it a podcast about Newport County because we noticed there isn’t many podcasts on Newport and a club that’s in league 2 the fans deserve more coverage/content than what they get.
We want to carry on the way we are going at the moment into the future so a guest on every so often and a chat between the four of us about Newport. For example, we talk about previous games, next game , transfer news , injury news and general news for about newport. At the moment we’ve only had one guest on who was an former Newport captain Mark O’Brien who was a great guest, he was easy to chat to and had some really good stories. We hope to carry on getting guests on as we think it’s one of the better ways to gain a following from Newport fans.”
