CPD Guilsfield FC is a club that plays in the Cymru North which is a league that had not been permitted to train or play games during a lockdown.
This has become an annoyance to many semi-professional players and clubs throughout the UK with the absence of football proving to be very tough, in particular with other teams nearby in another nation starting to get things up and running again.
So talks started around January time to try and find a way to get people around the club more motivated and a more upbeat mood in a time that was certainly not easy to do so.
To get past this struggle the club decided to start to walk or run the 1894 mile distance it would take to travel to all 15 teams’ stadiums in the Cyrmu North.

The fundraiser was aimed at raising money for three great causes. Hope House & Ty Gobaith Children’s Hospices, Nightingale House and CALM. The initial aim was to raise £2000 for their chosen charities, a target initially thought of as optimistic. The club ended up smashing that target and raised well over £3,000.
The strength of a community is something that is always great to see and especially during a lockdown period where people can still interact with each other and have something in common, whilst raising a lot of money in the process.
A lot has been achieved with a huge total for charity being raised, time spent with people that others have struggled to do in lockdown and certainly memories that everyone around the club can be happy with and proud of when looking back, a great job all round.
