ABERYSTWYTH Ladies FC and Lon Las Cyclists have appeared on USW’s Lockdown Relief.

The video was made to raise awareness for charities raising money through sport.

It was also made to recognise the brilliant achievement of the money raised through various challenges these groups had set.

Aberystwyth Ladies have been “mindblown” by the support they’ve received after raising £2740.

They raised the sum through donations for traveling a total of 2454 miles between the team.

This was done in a bid to travel the same distance it would take to go from Wales to the North Pole.

Their just giving page was started to raise funds for new kits for the club, as well as a sum of the money going to charities MS Society and Air Ambulance.

Lon Las Cyclists, a group of three Whitchurch rugby players took on a similar challenge by covering a massive amount of distance on their bicycles.

They did so to raise funds for Felindre Cancer Centre.

Someone close to the group was diagnosed with cancer so they decided to cycle from Holyhead down to Cardiff.

The journey topped over 250 miles and took place over the course of five days.

Exclusive interviews from both groups can be seen on USW’s Lockdown Relief on Youtube.
