Gemma Grainger’s side are the lowest ranked team to be placed in Pot 2 for Friday’s draw alongside Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Iceland, Scotland, Russia, Finland and Portugal.
The teams have been divided into six pots based on the UEFA Women’s national team coefficient rankings after the Euro 2022 Qualifying group stage. Pots 1 to 5 consist of nine teams each, while pot 6 is formed with the six remaining sides, who will be drawn in Groups D to I.
Wales could face 2019 finalists Netherlands who sit in pot 1 alongside Germany, England, France, Sweden, Spain, Norway, Italy and Denmark.
The Welsh will look forward to the draw and will have some confidence going into it, having drawn with Denmark 1-1 earlier in the month who sit in pot 1.
The qualifying campaign will take place between September 2021 and September 2022.

The winners of the nine qualifying groups progress straight to the World Cup which takes place in Australia and New Zealand. While the runners-up of each group will take part in the UEFA play-offs in October of 2022. The three best runners-up will be seeded directly into round 2 of the play-offs, the remaining six will contest three single leg play-offs in round 1.
The winners from round 1 and the three seeded teams will then complete in single leg play-offs. The two play-off winners with the highest ranking based on the qualifying groups and the play-offs will progress to the Tournament. The third play-off winner will then compete in the inter-confederation play-offs which will be held as a ten-team play-off tournament in Australia and New Zealand.
The field for the 2023 World Cup will consist of 32 teams, expanding from the 2019 tournament with 24 sides.
You can watch the draw live on the UEFA website from 12:30 on Friday.
