Despite not winning a game in the Six Nations, Wales will be encouraged after showing positive signs in their final game.
Wales played Scotland in a 5th place play-off, in which they narrowly lost by 27-20.
The game was a close and tight affair, but it was Scotland who won which got their first win of the campaign.
Wales were promising throughout the game and scored a pair of well-worked tries from Lisa Neumann and Caitlin Lewis to finish off the Six Nations on a positive note.
Wales’ first two games were definitely games to forget after conceding 15 tries over the two games and not scoring a single point.
These games were against semi-professional side France and Ireland which was at home.
Newly-appointed head coach, Warren Abrahams, commented on how pleased he was with the performance of his team after a difficult couple of weeks.
“I’m really proud of them, we asked for a performance and that was the key thing today,” he said.
“We saw some really good stuff and some real fight. That finish at the end showed that considering where we were in the game and I’m really pleased with the way we showed how we want to play.
“We went through 19 phases at the end there so there are some really great things we can take away from this game. If we want to compete at this level, we have to sort the set-piece out and we’ve learned some tough lessons there today. But it was a great completive fixture as we expected it to be.”

Abrahams admitted how hard the start of the campaign was, but he praised his side’s resilience and spoke about how they can all learn from this experience.
“It was a tough start to the Six Nations, but the biggest thing for me and the coaching team is that we’ve learned some incredible lessons,” he added.
“We’ve got some confirmation of where we are as a group and what we need to do. If we want to compete at this level we just have to iron out the details behind the scene. We can take a lot of positives from this performance to continue to build.”
Wales women’s will look to carry on improving as they look towards the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand next year.
