The University of South Wales 4th team had no reply for UWE’s three goals.

Straight from kick off UWE were pressing high and playing fast, leading to multiple early chances for the visitors from Bristol but they lacked that final edge in their attacking play.

USW found themselves struggling to get out of their half. Scrappy defending from the home team, as a result of the high pressure from the away side, led to USW resorting to booting the ball up field to clear it or simply conceding sloppy throw ins, which lead to them being put constantly under pressure. Despite the gifted possession from the home team UWE struggled to get a shot on target within the first 20 minutes.

USW did have chance, when Jodi Nyongea played a lovely through ball into Brian Magombe however he struggles to get the ball out of his feet and was tackled swiftly just outside the box.

The home side started to settle into the game, playing some nice short quick passes which saw Magombe lay the ball nicely on the edge of the box only to see Ajay Siram strike just over the bar.

The growing confidence from the home side was shattered when UWE winger Bray’s run down the right flank and a lovely ball into the box saw Daniel Garret, with an easy first-time finish slot the ball into the roof of the net.

The sides went in at half time with the away team 1-0 ahead, however it could be much larger if they were not lacking on the shooting part of their game.

In the second half UWE were pushing for their second goal. A strike from UWEs Phillip Kommen was pushed onto the bar by the fingertips of the USW keeper Ellis Buckley. However, this was shortly followed up with Bray taking it around Toby McCormick, the USW centre back, and slotting the ball into the bottom left of the goal making it 2-0 to the visitors.

Not long after the second goal UWE won a free kick on the edge of the area and Cemil Odun stepped up to take the strike. Odun bent the ball up and over the wall and into the top right corner of the goal leaving Buckley no chance of keeping it out.
