A brilliant second half display from Bath University Women 1sts ensured a comfortable comeback against University of South Wales Women 1sts.
It was the hosts who started the game brightest with Chloe Chivers’ shot forcing a save from Bath goalkeeper Susie English in the third minute.
Chivers continued to be a threat and bright spark for the home side and had another effort go over the bar only minutes later.
The visitors had their first attack of the game with a cross from Rachael Stevens finding Helena Marenow who put her effort wide to the post.
As the game continued both sides were looking increasingly likely to break the deadlock.
USW’s Monet Hegall hit the inside of the post with the ball coming back and being cleared by the Bath defence. While Bath’s captain Mia Blazey latched onto a through ball and dinked it over the rushing goalkeeper Chelsea Herbert, but it went inches over the bar.
It was the hosts who managed to break the deadlock with a cross from Hegall that found Charlotte Greenless who tapped it in.
The second half started and a couple of efforts saw the visitors grow in confidence.
The equaliser arrived when Stevens crossed the ball across the face of goal which was finished by Marenow to make the game more open.
The game turned on its head when Bath took the lead after Blazey got on the end of a through ball and slotted past the keeper.
The game was started to run away from USW when Stevens got on the end of a cross from Blazey to put Bath firmly in the driving seat.
The game was ultimately over when Izzy Fry broke past USW’s high line and scored a well hit finish to confirm the visitors left with the three points.
