SWANSEA City boss Russell Martin wasn’t exactly all smiles after watching his side claim an impressive victory against Coventry.
A brace from Michael Obafemi and a Jamie Paterson goal set up a 3-1 win, but the Jeckyll and Hyde nature of the home side’s display was acknowledged by Martin.
While the Swans were hugely impressive before half-time, they then became lethargic and allowed their intensity levels to drop off.
‘’I’m really pleased with the result,’’ Martin said.
‘’I absolutely loved the first-half performance, but I didn’t really love the second half performance.
‘’We have a fairly young team who haven’t been in the position of being 3-0 up very often and we didn’t manage the game well enough in the second half.
‘’It’s left me feeling not as positive as I probably should be but we have a lot of work to do.
“Second half we lacked intensity, there were too many mistakes and not enough attention to detail.”
With Korey Smith’s suspected hamstring injury, the Swans remain extremely light in both wing-back roles heading into Tuesday night’s clash with Championship leaders Fulham.
Martin admitted that he is reluctant to move current left-sided centre back Ryan Manning into a more advanced role due to his qualities in that position.
He added: “The most consistent back three was the one that played today, it’s been the back three which we have had the best record with.
‘’So, there was a temptation to put Ryan higher up the pitch today but then we would lose balance in the back three.”
