Lewis Fry put on a man-of-the-match display as University of South Wales 4ths beat University of Bristol 5ths 3-1 at the Sports Park.
Fry created a number of chances throughout the game for the hosts as they had majority of the ball and looked dangerous on the attack.
Despite a dominant performance it took 34 minutes for USW to take the lead, when right-back Jordan Rumbles calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner.
USW goalkeeper Nick Young made an impressive save to tip the ball onto the post to make sure his side went into half time ahead.
The hosts doubled their lead in the second half, when Fry dribbled with the ball past the Bristol defence, before passing to Raian Huq who smashed the ball into the back of the net.
The visitors got back into the game when James Robinson hit a strike from outside the box to put his team back into the match.
However, just over a minute later Calvin Okeye rounded the keeper and slotted a third goal for USW to put them in the driving seat for the remainder of the game.
A disappointing goal for the visitors to concede straight after building momentum by getting a goal back.
Man of the match Fry was easily the most impressive player on the pitch with a number of good passes and chances created. The midfielder was unfortunate not to get a goal himself after forcing a save two minutes in from close range.
USW manager Ben Challen will be pleased with his team’s performance after winning the game with the amount of chances they created and could’ve scored more.
