HARTPURY 1sts continued their winning start to the BUCS Western Tier 2B season with a convincing 71-24 win against USW 1sts at Treforest this afternoon.
The Gloucestershire side built on wins against Cardiff 3rds and Swansea 1sts in recent weeks.
Hartpury made an electric start to the contest, scoring 21 points in the first quarter alone. Their quality on the counter-attack was an issue for USW, who largely struggled with the pace of the game in the early stages.
Clinical finishing from attackers Charlotte Steer and Florie Grigg-Pettitt gave the visitors the upper hand early on and their dominance continued in a much calmer second quarter in. which they added 15 points to their total.
It was in the third quarter where Hartpury really began to pull away from USW, taking the score up to 53-20.
The away side then produced their best return of points in the final quarter, adding 18 to their total to seal a third consecutive win.
Hartpury will look to continue their perfect start to the campaign when they host Cardiff 3rd next Wednesday.
USW are still searching for their first points of the season, but face a tough test away to Swansea 1st next week.
