USW 2s fell to a heavy 77-0 defeat at the USW Sport Park against Cardiff Met 7s.

The visitors scored 12 tries in all as the hosts fail to get over the whitewash once throughout the game.

It took Met just over three minutes to get the opening score after scrumhalf Adam Barber was on the receiving end of an offload from open-side flanker Henry Kirwan with fly-half Harrison Greensalde adding the conversion.

Fullback Sam Harrison picked up the second try in the corner following some neat hands from the Met backline.

After quarter of an hour, the away side had three tries racked up with inside centre Jeremia Bulivo finishing in the corner with Greensalde kicking three conversions as the points started to build up.

Winger Alfie Bowers powered through some tackles to score the fourth Met try before Greensalde added a try of his own following a grubber kick and offload from Bulivo which would have been worked on the training ground.

There was still time for a sixth first half try as right winger Jason Trevino completing a first phase move from a scrum after a break from outside centre Sam Powell.

USW didn’t fire a single shot throughout the half with only one visit to the Met 22 as they trailed 40-0 at the break.

The rout continued for the Met in the second half as second row Joe Meek provided the assist for centre Powell who dotted down for his second.

An eighth try appeared with winger Trevino scoring his second try as the visitors exposed an overlap of the USW defence.

Trevino picked up his hat-trick a few minutes later as he crashed over from short range.

Bowers scored his second after beating several USW defenders.

Replacements Tom Bagwell and Matt Wilkins both scored in the final few moments for the visitors as Met claimed a big 77-0 victory.
