A dominant display from the USW 2nds ensured a convincing win over UWE 4ths at the USW Sports Park.

For a well-organised USW side it was a first win of the BUCS season, and a match where they were on top form and always comfortable.

Goal attack Natalie Mackay starred along with goal shooter Madison Neye who scored the majority of the USW’s points in an eventful game.

Early pressure from USW in the first quarter set the side up well for the game, with a barrage of attacks leading to many points after a series of contact fouls from the visitors. It gave the hosts a 13-9 lead at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, continued dominance from USW saw the hosts maintain control and extend their lead to nine points by half-time when they led 25-14.

Much of the same followed in the third quarter, but a spirited UWE side attempted to make a game of it with goal attack Amelie Curtis hitting a 75% accuracy rate. However by the end of the quarter UWE still trailed 35-22.

USW finished the game strongly in attack and defence, adding another 12 points and conceding six.

The result meant a first win of the season for the 2nds after two losses in their previous games, with the UWE 4ths recording losses in back-to-back games.
