THE USW 2nds endured a dismal day at the Sport Park, going down 7-2 to Bristol in a one-sided affair.
A hat trick from Jayden Tejuoso, a double from Xander Wright and goals from Eli Miller and Ben Johnson put paid to any prospect of a home success.
USW could only muster consolation goals from Cameron Dean and Harri Jones.
Both teams started in cagey fashion but USW had the first chance when a through ball from Jack Woodhams found the run of Cameron Dean, who dragged his effort wide.
But Dean made no mistake in the 18th minute, cutting inside after a Max Wells pass to fire into the top corner of the net via the crossbar.
The lead didn’t stand for long though, with Bristol replying straight from kick-off.
Bristol forward Wright found himself in space between a sleeping defensive line to slot home calmly at the near post.
Wright increased his tally for the afternoon to two goals in the 29th minute after bursting down the left-hand side and finding the far bottom corner of the net.
Bristol extended their lead just three minutes later with Tejuoso getting on the end of an Alec Holifield cross to tap in.
It was one-way traffic from then on, and by the hour mark Tejuoso had completed his hat-trick.
USW did snatch a bizarre lifeline in the 61st minute.
Following an over-hit pass Bristol goalkeeper Max Diment deliberately ran with the ball and ploughed through USW’s Harri Jones to concede a penalty.
Diment was cautioned and Jones converted his penalty to reduce the deficit to 5-2.
But this wasn’t enough for USW with Bristol substitute Miller producing a delightful back-heeled finish in the 79th minute to put the game all but past the hosts.
Bristol delivered the knockout blow in the 85th minute when Miller delivered a cross with a Rabona kick for fellow substitute Ben Johnson to finish.
