USW 3rds had no answer to the Medics’ Tom Chads as they succumbed to a heavy defeat at the Sport Park.
Chads scored twice and was at the heart of a dominant display by the away side.
His first goal was a clinical strike that ended a fluid move as winger Chidi Anagu slid the ball across for Chads to power home past helpless goalkeeper Floran Disco.
Chads added his second – and Medics’ third – early in the second half, when he audaciously chipped the ball past Disco after a great through- ball from Medics midfielder Fin Davies.
The game started with early pressure from the away side. Soon after Chads got his first, he whipped in a great corner which was headed in at the far post by Jibreel Meddah.
Medics rounded off their performance in the 85th minute with a glancing header from Anagu, as he latched onto a scramble in the box.
Although 4–0 was a damning result for USW, they had an opportunity to change the game at 2-0 down when pace winger Josh Price was tripped inside the area after a looping through-ball from left back Max Webb.
Midfielder George Hawkins stepped up, but his penalty was saved convincingly by Medics goalkeeper Rhys Knapper, who was excellent throughout, denying USW on a string of occasions.
Defeat leaves USW still without a point in their first three games, while a win puts the Medics top of the Western Tier 5B table.
