USW suffered their 4th defeat in a row by a merciless Cardiff Met side, extending the wait for their first points of the season.

USW consistently posed a threat on the counter-attack but were ultimately outclassed by a strong Cardiff Met team.

Met’s first goal came early on through Henry Bowen finishing smartly from close range.

They soon doubled their lead via Jago Hills, with another simple finish after a smart ball through the USW defence by Alex Lane-Sellers.

USW halved the deficit 15 minutes in as John Lowrie calmly beat Cardiff Mets keeper Ollie Adamson, and slotted home.

However Met soon reclaimed their two-goal cushion through Freddie Edwards 26 minutes in, before two goals in quick succession, a second for Hills and a Lewis Kerrigan strike, put Met into a 5-1 lead before half-time.

The second half started in similar fashion to the first, with Met continuing to dominate, and Ben Iaz added to the visitors’ tally 13 minutes into the second half.

USW continued to pose a threat on the break and Owain Hoe managed to score a second goal for the hosts.

However another goal by Iaz and a final strike by Henry Bowen sealed it.
