USW men’s 2nds football coach Rob Bailey insisted he was ‘not disappointed’, despite his side falling to a 4-2 home defeat to Cardiff Met 6ths.
Goals from Jack Woodhams and Noah Gorochovas were not enough for the hosts, who were well beaten by their local rivals.
But Bailey was upbeat in his assessment.
He said: “It was a disappointing first 45 minutes, but the second 45, I didn’t find disappointing. I tend to value performance above results.
“Results normally follow on, but today it didn’t because we made some mistakes in the first half.
“But the biggest thing for me was how we bounced back and started playing good football.”
Bailey said his team trained well in the leading up to the game, which didn’t show to begin with.
He added: “We started very slowly, so that’s something we’ve got to address in some shape or form.
“We concede in the first minute and it’s like they had just turned up and not spent half an hour warming up.”
