JAYNE Ludlow is hoping that Josie Green and Anna Filbey will act as mentors for their 18-year-old Tottenham and Wales teammate Esther Morgan.
Morgan could make her debut appearance for Wales’ senior side if she features in their final UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 qualifying match against Belarus on 1st December.
The youngster captained Wales’ Under 19s in last year’s UEFA Women’s Euro qualifying round, so she is no stranger to carrying pressure on her shoulders.
And, Wales Women’s manager Ludlow is keen to challenge Morgan on the international stage.

“Knowing Esther as an individual she is a very competitive young lady. She was at Chelsea for a good chunk of time and developed well there in their youth system,” she said.
“She wants to challenge herself, so she stepped into a more senior environment (at Tottenham) and is doing well from our reports.
“For us, it is the case of bringing her into this environment and seeing how she competes. She is very competitive and is talented, so I am hoping we can help her develop.”
Morgan has recently started to train with Tottenham’s first team and amongst the multiple star names in that squad such as Australia’s Alanna Kennedy and Canada’s Shelina Zadrosky, is one of the world’s best players Alex Morgan.
And, Ludlow wants the Welsh Morgan to learn from her Welsh counterparts just as much as the American striker.
Ludlow said: “The squad that is being spoken about there is full of talent, and of course you mentioned the big name (Alex Morgan) who gets alot of plaudits because of her accomplishments in the game and so she should.
“But, Tottenham’s squad is full of very good players so I am hoping she will learn from the likes of Josie Green and Anna Filbey.
“I am hoping that they (Josie Green and Anna Filbey) are looking at her as somebody who they are going to take under their wing and help develop too.”
