CARDIFF City boss Steve Morison stressed his priority is not being involved in any relegation shake-up ahead of finishing above rivals Swansea City.
With the Bluebirds now 18 points clear of the bottom three, the worst case scenario is now extremely unlikely.
But Cardiff are also just a point behind the Swans in 17th place, though Russell Martin’s side have two games in hand.
“I just want to finish as high as we can,” explained Morison.
“They (Swansea) have a couple of games in hand over us so it’s not a true reflection yet until they catch up.
“So they’ll have the extra game on Saturday that we won’t have. If we finish above Swansea then great, as long as we don’t get dragged into anything down the bottom.”
Morison jokingly regarded the 0-0 draw against Preston on Saturday as ‘boring’, saying the game had ‘0-0 written all over it’.
But he also emphasised the positive element.
“We would have lost that a few months back and we haven’t today,” he said.
“We defend as a team, everyone plays a part in that and the positives are we kept a clean sheet against a team on a good run of form.
“We haven’t drawn enough games this season in the grand scheme of things.
“If you look at the teams above us, they’re only above us because they’ve drawn games early on in the season when we’ve lost them.”
