A depleted USW 4ths side suffered a haunting 84-4 loss at the hands of USW 2nds this afternoon at the Treforest Sport Park.
Laura Hewston netted all four points for the home side who suffered the consequences of being a player down, failing to put any sort of pressure on a well organised USW 2nds team.
The visiting side set the pace early on, with star players Madi Neye and Kiera Aitken netting 19 points between them in the first quarter with fluid attacking play.
The extra player advantage continued to be an issue for the 4ths, as the 2nds raced into a 37-2 lead by half time. Aitken was an issue for the home side’s defence, who failed to prevent her from getting the ball in dangerous areas on numerous occasions.
Harriet Williams dominated the centre role for the away side during the second half, failing to give the 4ths any room to create as they struggled to string a pass together.
The 4ths managed to have their best spell of the game in the fourth quarter, getting the ball in goal-scoring areas more frequently, but to no avail as they conceded a further 25 points and only responded with one.
