10 Men USW hold on to a hard fought 1-0 win at the USW Sports Park.
University of South Wales 4’s took an early lead in this afternoon’s kick-off vs Cardiff Met 6’s when Lucas Pestana converted a great free kick in the fourth minute.
Both sides were going back and forth trying to sustain possession and assert their authority on the game.
Cardiff Met grew into the game following the USW goal with Drew Thomas seeing a great effort just head over the crossbar.
Chances came thick and fast for Met in the first half with Morgan Stevens and Drew Thomas having two fantastic efforts saved by the USW keeper Ellis Buckley who was in fine form.
Heading into the second half USW held firm defensively keeping Met at bay.
The second half began with Met on the front foot, a great chance fell to Matt O’Brien who failed to find the back of the net.
Nathan Sandland also had a chance come close with USW clinging on to their 1-0 advantage.
Jack Pulleyn for USW saw red after he faced a second yellow for kicking the ball out of play following an offside decision.
The number of cards picked up as the game intensified as Robbi Islam received a yellow for a foul on Met’s Adam Caswell and Met’s Ehab Hassan facing a yellow for foul-play.
USW held on to see out what was a hard fought and hard earned victory over Cardiff Met 6’s.
