It was honours even between the USW 2nds and Cardiff Met 4ths as both sides were unable to find a winner in their 2-2 Western Tier 3 Division encounter.
USW twice took the lead, first in the third minute through Cameron Dean from the penalty spot, before an immediate response from Mets Benji Cronin just three minutes later.
Raian Huq was able to quickly restore the lead for USW, winning the ball on the outside of the box and then beating the keeper at the near post.
However, Met again found a quick equaliser from Joe Grigg’s corner, as Joe Lisk saw his free header crash against the underside of the bar before bouncing over the line.
The second half saw both teams have chances to take the lead, with Huq again lively but unable to convert from efforts in the 47th and 70th minute.
The result leaves USW fourth in the table and the Mets fifth, with a game in hand.
Rob Bailey’s 2nds will continue next against Hartpury in the new year with hopes of leapfrogging them in the table with a win.
