Cardiff City manager Erol Bulut insisted his side’s Severnside derby win was simply a reward for hard work in training.
Bulut was his customary cool and calm self in the post-match media room, though his satisfaction was clear after goals from Perry Ng and Rubin Colwill secured a 2-0 win against Nigel Pearson’s Bristol City.
“I feel good. It was not an easy game, and we have to continue the hard and good work.
“It’s a good result for my team, I’m glad to see this performance.
“Our players give everything, every week, every game to be in this position and we will continue to work like that.”
Bulut praised striker Callum Robinson and goalscorer Ruben Colwill, whose defensive play from midfield was much improved.
“I was clear what I want from those two players,” Bulut added.
“Offensively, both are good. Today we saw from Colwill a great goal and Robinson worked a lot.
“But defensively they’re doing much better than before and this what I’m expecting.
“We are 11 players on the field. And I need 11 players, not 10.”
Ng’s appearance on the scoresheet again was notable after his goal in the 4-0 win against Huddersfield in midweek. This latest strike was his third in six matches.
Asked for his reaction to Ng becoming a regular scorer, Bulut added: “If he continues like this I don’t have any problems with that!”
