A double from Jack Farion, plus strikes from Aaron MacDermott and Jack Walters gave Hartpury all three points at the expense of USW.

Both sides occupied fourth and fifth place in Western Tier 3B going into this, with Hartpury looking for just their second win in the league this season.

Farion’s controlled finish from Max Kirkman’s throw-in made it 0-1 after just six minutes, with USW defenders allowing Farion to wait for the ball to bounce before firing past James Dobson.

Hartpury had the ball in the net through Cristiano Ascencao soon after, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.

Five minutes later, with a quarter of the game gone, USW’s Max Wells smashed a free-kick against the crossbar before it was dealt with by Harry Victor in the Hartpury goal.

Hartpury counter-attacked straight afterwards and won a corner, and when Matt Lee swung the ball in it wasmet by Aaron MacDermott, who beat Dobson for the away side’s second goal.

Farion, who scored the visitors’ first, made it 3-0 to Hartpury when Archie Blacker recycled the ball from an unsuccessful corner. Farion lost his marker at the back post, bundling the ball in to give the away side a three-goal advantage at half-time.

USW came close when a Wells free-kick was headed off the line and USW’s best chance fell to Cameron Dean, who was played in one-on-one with Victor only for the goalkeeper to close down the angle.

Hartpury sealed victory two minutes before the end when Dobson’s save rebounded to the feet of Walters.
