USW 3rds captain Callum Cox insisted his team are capable of better after their defeat to UWE.

Cox’s men fought hard against their Varsity rivals but lost 3-2.

He said: “The boys battled well at certain times but it wasn’t enough to come out with three points.

“We played [UWE] last week, I think they were set up better today than what they were then, so all credit to them.

“I thought they played a really good game.”

Cox also said a lack of communication didn’t help USW.

He added: “There was a lack communicability in the final third….maybe for that final ball.

“But it’s something to work on in training. We’ll get there eventually.”

USW’s next game is away to Cardiff (Medics) Men’s 5ths on the Dec 4.
