Cardiff University 4ths secured an impressive 57-41 victory over the USW 1sts in an entertaining contest.

In the first quarter, Cardiff were strong, scoring early with Lily Wilson to the fore as Goal shooter.

Mali Davies, in the centre role for Cardiff, displayed excellent off-the-ball movement creating great opportunities for Lucy Harget and Wilson in the goal circle.

Despite a solid defensive effort from USW, Cardiff’s constant pressure kept them ahead as the match progressed.

USW fought back fiercely in the second quarter.

Deanna Jacks for the hosts was able to keep Wilson relatively quiet for portions of the game, which also meant that USW were able to add to their tally through the likes of Elin Barwick and captain Ali Chan.

As time went on, Cardiff’s impact players such as Lucy Lo and Carys Underdown were able to keep the pressure on the USW defence.

With a commanding 16-goal lead in the final quarter, Cardiff secured the win comfortably.

Wilson played a huge role scoring 40 goals for Cardiff’s second win this season – the other also both being against USW.
