THE University of South Wales play their third game of the season, as they welcome Aberystwyth University to the Sport Park in the Western Conference Cup.
Gail Calford’s side have lost their past two games in the league, to Cardiff University 29-34 and Cardiff Metropolitan University 38-34.
After going out early in the cup last year to University of West of England Women’s 1st team, USW will be hoping to go further this year, starting off against an Aberystwyth team who also made a swift exit in the cup to UWE Women’s 2nd.
Despite USW’s previous losses being narrow defeats, they will be hoping to overturn recent poor form and gain a victory against an Aberystwyth side also hoping to bounce back from last week’s defeat by Swansea Women’s 2nd team, 42-24.
Last time USW played Abeystwyth 1st in 2016, it ended in a win for USW, 35-24.
Elsewhere in the Western Conference Cup today Hartpury Women’s 1st take on Cardiff Met Women’s 2nd.
