USW Men’s 1st side are looking to bounce back from last week’s 4-0 defeat to rivals Cardiff Metropolitan University when they host 5th placed Hartpury University Centre Men’s 1sts. The hosts occupy third spot in the BUCS Premier South table on eight points, three points behind joint leaders Swansea University and Cardiff Met.

Top goal scorer Louis Gerrard will look to get back to his scoring habits. His current tally stands at three goals for the season and he will be keen to help give his side the edge against a stubborn Hartpury team. The last meeting between these two teams ended in a 1-1 draw, with Hartpury managing to take a point from the game at home.

There are likely to be changes to the USW side following successive defeats against the top two placed teams in the league.  One is enforced after midfielder Michael George suffered an injury to his ankle ligaments and will not feature.

The visiting side though will be feeling confident coming into the match-up off the back of a 4-0 victory against Chichester University. Their solid performances in the last two league games resulted in four points.  One of these games was an impressive result against second placed Cardiff Metropolitan University, with the fifth placed side managing a 2-2 draw and a well-earned point.

USW will be keen to curtail the decent run though, with Steve Savage’s side needing to find form following two defeats.
