Venue: USW Sport Park, Treforest
University of South Wales Men’s 1st take on University of Chichester Men’s 1st in what should be a thrilling match-up between these two teams.
USW will look to get the all important three points after they were forced to share the spoils against Hartpury University Centre, in one of the most open games of the season so far.
The last meeting between USW and Chichester produced a great and hard-fought 3-2 victory for USW. The home side are third in the points table, only two behind Cardiff Metropolitan University, and they will look to pile on the pressure on their local rivals with a home victory.
Chichester currently stand fifth in the table and are only two points behind USW, so a victory for them would bring them right back into the hunt. They come into the game after suffering two heavy 4-0 defeats to Swansea University and Hartpury. They will no-doubt look to turn their season around with an away victory and stop the goal-scoring drought of recent times.
With only three games to go before the next stage, it’s imperative for both teams to keep winning and apply as much pressure on the top two as possible.
Chichester will be as motivated as USW to get the victory, not least because their last win against USW come all the way back in November 2012.
For USW, they have clearly dominated this fixture in recent times, proving to have somewhat of a mental edge over their opponents. They will be hoping that the result of this clash is no different.
