DURING USW’s Women and Sport Conference, Wales women’s all time leading goalscorer, Helen Ward, spoke about her future aspirations.

Ward took time out of her busy schedule, along with Wales manager Jayne Ludlow, to talk about her career and her goals after her playing career.

The striker graduated in 2017 at Staffordshire University, with a first class honours degree in Professional Sports Writing and Broadcasting.

Ward knew she wanted a career in sports media after partaking in pre and post match interviews.

During a Q and A session with second year Sports Journalism student, Callum Ellis, Ward talked about her reasons for studying the subject.

”When I had my time off, it made me think what will happen after football. I managed to complete a part-time course just before Charlie was born, and that’s something I’m really proud of.

“If you want to do something, you’ll find the time to do it.”

Ward is not finished with her career yet and wants to keep firing for the Dragons.
