A MOUTH-WATERING fixture awaits as Cardiff Metropolitan University Men’s 1st host local rivals University of South Wales Men’s 1st.
BUCS Premier South champions USW face their local rivals in what is is always one of the most anticipated fixtures of the season.
This year is no different as the last time both sides met was in the BUCS National Cup semi-final where USW came out on top with a 3-2 win over the Archers.
Cardiff Met come into this game winless this season with their recent result against Swansea University ending in a 4-1 defeat.
Cardiff Met’s only point of the season came on the opening day against Exeter University. This will be Cardiff Met’s first home game of the season and they will be desperate to get their first win.
USW has the momentum going into the match after a 3-1 victory against Exeter means that USW earned their first three-points of the season.
The defending champions will want to stay undefeated against Met as they haven’t lost to them in over a year.
USW’s captain Kane Owen said: “Preparations have been good this week, we got a game plan that we believe can win the game and it’s about producing it on the pitch.
“We have to start tomorrow how we finished last week, for 85 minutes we were outstanding and that should definitely give us the motivation going forward.
“Any local derby is big but the history between the both teams is huge, they will be wanting to beat us like any other team as we are the double winning champions, we haven’t lost to them in a year and a half and we are going into the game not wanting to lose that record.”
Kick off is 16:00.
