SWANSEA CITY will be hoping to continue their early season form as they resume Championship action at Barnsley following the international break.

Steve Cooper’s side sit in the playoff spots after 11 games as they head to the Oakwell Stadium to face managerless Barnsley.

The Tykes are without a win in their last 10 league fixtures, with just six points so far this campaign and are second from bottom in the table.

Cooper has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the game and is expecting the sacking of Daniel Stendel to bring an element of the unpredictability to proceedings.

“They’re a young and hungry team that works really hard. Even when results haven’t gone their way,” he said.

“It’s one – when you change manager – where there’s an element of the unknown. But we’ve got to be able to adapt.”

At his pre-match press conference Cooper also spoke highly of the performances of Joe Rondon and Conor Roberts, who both featured for Wales over the international break.

“I thought, selfishly, they were great experiences for Connor and Joe.

“It really matters doesn’t it and they’re really proud to play for Wales. So to see them play well was really pleasing.”

Meanwhile the hosts’ caretaker manager Adam Murray will take to the dugout for the first time tomorrow.

Murray was full of praise for the Swans in his pre-match press conference and highlighted the importance of rebuilding confidence within his side.

“They’re a really good side, Swansea. They’re not in the position they are through being a poor team. I think the manager there has done fantastic to move seamlessly into club football from an international background.

“A big thing I think for us is that when we get these lads playing again with confidence and able to show their ability, it will be exciting to watch.

“There’s lots of these lads who can go on and have very good careers. If they can go out and not play with fear or anxiety, we will give anyone a game in this league.”

Kick off at Oakwell is 3pm.
